- Home Demo Collection: Money til January
- Posted: December 13, 2022
- Released as part of the Home Demo Collection. This is an song I wrote, titled "Money til January". I wrote this song while looking back at a time in life where the life I was building at the time all collapsed on itself like a house of cards. I was 18 and living with some friends and life was great...until about 9 months later and we all realized it was too expensive and we couldn't keep making the monthly rent. So I had to move back in with my Dad. This song is about that time, and how sometimes you gotta go back to Square One before you can move forward again.
- Home Demo Collection: Mary Jane's Last Dance (Tom Petty cover)
- Posted: December 05, 2022
- Released as part of the Home Demo Collection. This is a cover song written by Tom Petty, titled "Mary Jane's Last Dance". This was always one of my favorite Petty tunes. I always loved how Tom said he wrote this song in a matter of minutes for his Greatest Hits album, which he only did at the request of his record company. This song then went onto be one of his biggest hits he ever wrote. Tom said he thought it was weird to write a new song for a greatest hits album since it had never been a hit and could easily be a big flop. Tom was surprised at the success of the song considering it was written so quickly.

- Home Demo Collection: Dear Anti-Me
- Posted: November 22, 2022
- Released as part of the Home Demo Collection. This is an original song that was written by our former singer Joe, titled "Dear Anti-Me". This is a song about the struggle between what you want in life, versus what others want from you. Sometimes those two things align, and other times they don't.
- Home Demo Collection: Sleeping But Not Dreaming
- Posted: November 16, 2022
- Released as part of the Home Demo Collection. This is an original song that I wrote, titled "Sleeping But Not Dreaming". In writing the song, I was reflecting back on times in my life where I was more or less just going through the motions of day-to-day living without having much of a vision for my life. The times where I get into that habit end up becoming quite depressing. So I wrote this song to remind myself to keep hold of a vision for life. Maybe you have been, or are currently, in that spot. My hope is that you can relate to this idea and do some soul-searching and find a vision for you life.
- Home Demo Collection: Backworld
- Posted: November 02, 2022
- Released as part of the Home Demo Collection. This is an original song that our former singer Joe wrote, titled "Backworld". It is a song about the ongoing conflict within all of us between Truth and Grace. Both elements have their merit, but operating in one without the other creates problems. Truth is necessary for giving our lives structure, accountability, and a well-defined path in life. But Truth is also a very harsh beast that doesn't care for the feelings of you or others. If operating in only Truth without any Grace, then you're inevitably going to have some bitter, broken relationships. Grace, however, is a nurturing creature that only seeks warm and loving feelings with others, without any consideration of laws or responsibility. If operating in only Grace without any Truth, then you'll be taken advantage of over and over again as people realize you won't hold them accountable to anything. We all naturally want to operate in either Truth or Grace. But the reality is that we need to learn to operate in both Truth and Grace if we want to move forward in life.
- Home Demo Collection: Bed of Gold
- Posted: October 26, 2022
- Released as part of the Home Demo Collection. This is an original song that our former singer Joe wrote, titled "Bed of Gold". I remember Joe saying that he wrote this song after going through a difficult time in his life. He came in with a very basic structure and melody, and our drummer Garrett and I helped fill out the song. It was also a turning point for us in our songwriting at the time, as it was more experimental and we all contributed small parts to make up the larger work of art.

- Home Demo Collection: Fell In Love With a Girl (White Stripes cover)
- Posted: October 11, 2022
- Released as part of the Home Demo Collection. This is my rendition of the White Stripes song, "Fell In Love With a Girl". This song was released on their album, White Blood Cells, in 2001, which was a pivotal album for the band as it launched them into a much larger audience. Jack White recorded the original version of this song in an aggressive punk rock style using power chords, which power chords remove the major or minor tonality of the chord being played. Personally, I always felt there was a hint of sadness to this song within Jack's lyrics, with the feeling of wanting more from a relationship but the feelings not being reciprocated by the other person. If you ever lived through your teenage years, I'm sure you've experienced this exact situation at some point. Anyway, I decided to slow down the song's tempo and turned the opening chord into a minor chord so as to help draw out that mood. And of course in true White Stripes fashion, I wore the only black, white and red clothing I own.
- Home Demo Collection: Traces on Paper
- Posted: October 05, 2022
- Released as part of the Home Demo Collection. This song is an original that was written by our former singer Joe, titled "Traces on Paper". This song is about not conforming to the latest trends in various facets of life. That's not to encourage being a nonconformist just for the sake of being a nonconformist and being at odds with all humanity. But more about taking the time to figure out things for yourself rather than jumping on the latest trend. This approach takes more time and effort, but in the end you're better off for it. Otherwise if you're only following the latest trends then you just become a trace of something that somebody else thought up.
